The development of new products is the integral part of the firm strategy of ASA. Since the year of our foundation several r&d projects in different areas of biotechnology have been carried out. Examples for such projects, accomplished on our own, in cooparation with other companies or institutes or as contract research can be listed as follows:
- Production of value-added chitosan by a new chitin deacetylase
- Development of a biotechnologic procedure for removing rusty layers from metal surfaces
- Biotechnological process for the production of pimaricin as well as its enzymatically modified derivates
- Process for the production of a bacterial phytase
- Development of an oil adsorber on the base of animal skin pretreated by biotechnological and chemical means
- Enzymatic purification of phenol-containing wastewater
- Green algae as expression systems for pharmaceutically and biotechnologically relevant proteins
- Process development for the production of dextranase
- Lipase-Screening-Kits (investigation of new lipases for use in the organic synthesis)
- Enzymatic desorption of TNT-derived pollutants from soil matrices
- Improvement of the performance of small wastewater treatment units.
The Gesellschaft für Biotechnologische Forschung (GBF), Braunschweig, is a very important partner for research and development purposes. The close local relationship of the GBF to our company has led to several scientific contacts as well as to common projects, especially in the area of gene technology.
